Zukisani Karabo Mabece, Managing Director of Digicine Motion Picture, is a film technologist and strategist. Established in 2020 during the global pandemic, Digicine Motion Picture operates across South Africa and around the world with a mission to globalize and democratize the creative industries by rethinking traditional media from first principles. Guided by a philosophy of maximizing the quality-to-cost ratio throughout the cinematic value chain, Zukisani has transformed production, distribution, and exhibition through innovative technologies. Under his leadership, Digicine developed Weaver, an AI-powered cinematic pre-visualization tool; Likeness, the world’s first ethical AI talent marketplace; Hektik, Africa’s pioneering vertical short-form distribution platform; and Digistream, a flexible digital-theatrical exhibition framework. By combining strategic vision with technological innovation, Zukisani is building a decentralized creative ecosystem that empowers artists, expands opportunities for filmmakers, and enables African stories and voices to reach global audiences on their own terms with authenticity and impact.
