Bio

With a rich background spanning the legal field and a passion for film, Zoe’s journey began with co-founding Sister’s Working in Film and Television—an organization dedicated to empowering women in the industry.

Driven by her passion, Zoe pursued a degree in filmmaking at Columbia University in New York City. There, she directed ‘It Takes a Circus,’ a documentary nominated for the 48th Student Academy Awards and screened at Doc NYC, and produced ‘To The Plate,’ recognized by BAFTA and funded by the Pulitzer Centre.

Returning to South Africa, Zoe is currently immersed in writing and producing two feature films—one slated for a Netflix debut in 2024 and another shortlisted for the Sundance Development Lab. She’s also spearheading an Amazon Original series as the showrunner.

Zoe’s dedication to diversity led her to the 2021 Reuters Institute Fellowship at Oxford University, where she engaged industry leaders through talks and workshops. Educated in Law, African Literature, and Journalism, Zoe holds MA and MSc degrees from Wits University and Columbia University, respectively. With affiliations like the Cannes Producers Network and the Gotham (formerly IFP), Zoe brings a deep understanding of the industry to our app, crafted with her expertise and passion.
