Thihangwi Ramutsindela

In a world that often forgets the quiet voices of nature. Thihangwi Ramutsindela stands as a storyteller, African wildlife advocate striving to use film for change. A recent UCT MA graduate and aspiring PhD student, she has dedicated her career to wildlife documentary, nature conservation, and impact driven filmmaking- turning the lens towards the urgent stories that need to be told. As a head tutor for the Film in Africa course and the program coordinator/head tutor for the UCT Impact Facilitator course for the past 4 years she strives to engage with youth and inspire them to use their passion for change. She is the founder of Nga Maanda Awe Film Festival curated to empower and inspire emerging filmmakers and a recipient of the honorary award for emerging filmmakers leadership by the Documentary Filmmakers Association. In 2023 she worked as a coordinator for the Climate Story Lab ZA team. Recently she has integrated her passion for nature and wildlife storytelling in 2025 she became the Story Labs coordinator for NEWF.
