Nomy Donaldson

Nomy Donaldson is a strategic public-sector official with years of experience in public administration, youth development, municipal governance and senior management. She currently provides strategic leadership in coordinating and implementing provincial youth economic empowerment initiatives. Her expertise includes youth enterprise development, funding and grant management, skills development, employment initiatives, programme implementation and strategic partnerships. She played a key role in implementing the KwaZulu-Natal Youth Empowerment Fund, overseeing funding assessment, due diligence, investment recommendations, disbursement and beneficiary support. Nomy has coordinated youth development initiatives with government institutions, SETAs, regulatory bodies, private-sector organisations and industry partners. Through her work in youth economic empowerment, she contributes to expanding opportunities for young people to access funding, develop enterprises, acquire skills and participate meaningfully in the economy. Her portfolio also encompasses opportunities in the creative industries, including the partnership between the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs and the KwaZulu-Natal Film and Tourism Authority (KZNTAFA), which supports opportunities relating to film production development, funding and job creation. She has also served as a panelist and judge for international youth entrepreneurship programmes. Nomy holds a Master of Commerce in Management, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management and a Bachelor of Public Administration. Her achievements include receiving the 2013 Mayor’s Excellence Award for outstanding service and being nominated for the KZN Premier’s Service Excellence Awards for Best Youth Development Programme. Her leadership is focused on expanding economic opportunities that enable young people to build sustainable enterprises, participate in emerging industries and contribute meaningfully to economic growth and job creation.
