Nivolla Musaka

Nivolla Musaka is a Kenyan producer, screenwriter, and director based in Nairobi whose work explores the intersection of power, identity, survival, and the human experience within contemporary African realities. His storytelling spans film and television, with a focus on character-driven narratives that examine how ordinary people navigate complex social, political, and institutional systems. He is the Founder and Creative Director of Royalz Studios Ltd, a Nairobi-based production company dedicated to developing original African intellectual property for regional and international audiences. His credits include writing The Immersive Alarm (Showmax Original), which received an AMVCA nomination in 2025, serving as Script Supervisor on The Canvas (Zee World), producing the short film Fauxmance, and directing Mwana wa Mubi by Nviiri the Storyteller. His directorial short film ControlRoom was selected for the NEFTi programme at the 16th Durban FilmMart and is in development as a feature film under Royalz Studios. A graduate of the Kenya School of Mass Communication, with further training from the New York Film Academy and MultiChoice Talent Factory, Nivolla brings together writing, directing, and production experience with a strong foundation in story structure and visual storytelling. Across his work, he is drawn to narratives that explore systems of power, justice, technology, and belonging, creating distinctly African stories with the potential to resonate with audiences globally.
