An established documentary film director, producer and archive researcher. Studied chemistry, but the bug of the film industry diverted his career path. He started working as a production assistant, while enrolled part time with Boston Media College.He forged a career in television by becoming a specialist archive researcher, and later branched into producing and directing. He has worked on over 110 documentaries, feature films and heritage exhibitions museums: independent production companies; SABC; etv; M-Net; CBS, Channel 4 and BBC- UK; CAPA TV; ARTE, NGOs; Swedish and Indian Broadcaster. Mthethwa has recently collated and researched film archives for the Freedom Park Museum and Womens Living Heritage Monument, Apartheid Museum, Constitutional Hill while also developing several documentary films, television/docu reallity series for his company, Full Circle Productions, he established in 2010.
