May Odeh

May Odeh is an award winning Palestinian producer and filmmaker, founder of Odeh Films in Palestine, and co-founder of Mayana Films with Berlin-based producer Zorana Mušiki?. Her work focuses on developing and producing distinctive films from Palestine and the wider Global South, with a strong emphasis on international co-production and bringing new voices to global audiences. Her productions have premiered and received awards at leading festivals. May was named MENA Talent of the Year 2020 by Variety. Her credits include The Eye Didn’t Sleep by Rakan Mayasi, selected for Un Certain Regard at Cannes 2026; Safe Exit, selected for Berlinale Panorama 2026; and Alex Bakri’s Habibi Hussein, which premiered at Busan in 2025 and later won Best Film in Cairo. Aisha Can’t Fly Away in Un Certain Regard and A Useful Ghost, winner of the Critics’ Week Grand Prize. plus 200 Meters, Hanging Gardens, 1000 Fires and Notes on Displacement Her films have been sold across numerous territories, as well as to major television networks and platforms. May also curates the Palestinian Film Platform, celebrating and promoting Palestinian cinema globally.
