Jason Jacobs is a storyteller who integrates his cultural heritage into contemporary narratives. As the 2026 Standard Bank Young Artist Award winner for theatre, Jasons contributions to both theatre and film have earned him widespread international acclaim. He co-founded KRAAL, a production company based in Kharkams in the Northern Cape that has significantly contributed to the local Kamiesberg region. He has co-directed three feature films with Devon Delmar, including the Deleen Bekker Prize-winning screenplay Carissa, and the Tiger Award-winning Variations on a Theme, which is self-distributed in co-production with Meria & InterAkt and has received numerous local and international awards. Their third feature, Al Wat Ek Weet, produced by Annemarie du Plessis and Meria Productions, debuted at Silwerskermfees 2026. Additionally, KRAAL received the SAFTA for Outstanding Provincial Contributor Award in 2026.
