Jacqueline van Meygaarden

Jacqueline is an independent director, producer and communications practitioner from South Africa, with over 20 years of experience in creating socially engaged storytelling across film, performance, and multimedia platforms. Her artistic practice bridges documentary realism, poetic visual storytelling, and community advocacy work. She was awarded the Commonwealth Vision Award in 2007; has produced climate justice campaign content for 350.org in Africa; produces factual content for the local broadcaster SABC; and has directed several short documentary films. She co-directed and was the impact producer on feature documentary Temperature Rising (2023), and is currently in production on Chikukwa Custodians. She is the impact producer on Out of Mined, feature documentary about the impacts of mining on the West coast of South Africa. Jacqueline is the co-director of media co-operative Mycelium Media Colab in Cape Town.
