Flavia Motsisi is a Forbes Africa – recognized, International Emmy-nominated producer based in Johannesburg, and a honoree of the Mail & Guardian’s Young 200. FAME Week Africa named her a Trailblazer in Film, TV and Fashion during its Leading Women in Entertainment showcase, recognition built on a career of shipping hit series and developing the next wave of storytellers behind them. As Executive Producer and Founder of Flavia Motsisi Media, she is currently in post-production on an original Canal+ film, and in development with several series and films and digital content across an international co-production network anchored in women-led partnerships, active collaborations underway alongside women-led production companies in Mozambique, Ivory Coast, Tanzania, Nigeria, and the United States. As Chief Creative Officer of Amazi, Both Worlds Pictures’ microdrama division, Flavia is leading Africa’s entry into the global vertical microdrama boom. In March 2026, Variety broke the news of Amazi’s co-production partnership with Atlanta-based Freeli Films, the first in a series of international deals under the Amazi banner and the division’s flagship international offering, pairing South African and African screen talent with global stars, with Taye Diggs set to lead the inaugural slate of films and mircrodrama’s. That international push sits alongside real traction on the ground. Amazi’s project earned a place in ABFF’s inaugural 9:16 Microdrama Project Showcase in Miami, where Flavia sat on the panel for their vertical: The King, The Affair, and the Son Heir, was confirmed as the first African microdrama selected for ABFF, streaming for festival audiences on the CodeBlack app, powered by Hartbeat, Kevin Hart’s entertainment company. Her television pedigree runs deep. Over a decade as Broadcast Executive with over 45 shows involved in capacity as Commissioning Editor and Senior Manager of Scripted Series at MultiChoice and Showmax, she helped shape some South Africa’s television landscape, with credits including Outlaws, Shaka Illembe, Gomora, Housekeepers, The Wife, Lavish, Adulting, and LLB to name a few.
