Mr. Peko studied at the University of KwaZulu Natal (formerly known as University of Natal) since 1998, graduated with the following Degrees: Bachelor of Arts (BA), Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management, Post Graduate Diploma in Local Economic Development respectively.
Mr. Peko is a Project Manager at the Durban Film Office, a department of Economic Development Unit under eThekwini Municipality. Mr. Peko is responsible for the Development Programmes which seek to support emerging as well as experienced local filmmakers by giving them funding for their films. Mr. Peko joined the Durban Film Office in 2013 and that was followed by the introduction of the Micro Budget Film Fund and Development Fund. Up to date both these programmes have funded more that 40 films which some of them have been licensed by our local broadcasters and others are on digital platforms.
Mr. Peko has been in many adjudicating panels such as DFM open pitching session, KwaZulu Natal Film Commission, and Chairing pitching sessions for DFO development Programmes
