Dr. Rachael Diang’a

Dr. Rachael Diang’a is an Assistant Professor of Film in the Cinematic Arts Department at United States International University–Africa. She holds a PhD in Film Technology and has over twenty-two years’ experience in research, practice and scholarship in Creative and Performing Arts. She is the author of the first book on Kenyan Cinema: African Re-creation of Western Impressions: A Focus on the Kenyan Film (2011) and over thirty journal articles and book chapters on African cinema and theatre arts. She has contributed extensively to the creative industry as a filmmaker, trainer and thought leader, and has produced and/or directed several films and theatre pieces, including Our Strength (2012), The Invisible Workers (2013), Drugnets (2015), Mad Love (2018), Unbalanced (2019), Amani Ndani (2022), Jabari (2023) and A Recipe for Revenge (2026).
