Free Women Films, (FWF) is a multiple award-winning Film and TV production company specialising in fiction, tv dramas, and non-fiction storytelling. Our feature films premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, IDFA, INPUT, and over 20 global film festivals. Our productions has screened on SABC, BBC, ZDF/ARTE, CANAL +, NHK, YLE, and MNET. We have won awards in Reims France, IDFA Amsterdam, Fespaco, ZIFF, SAFTAS, DIFF, and Carthage, amongst others. Our work includes co-productions with various global producers, bringing equity finance, soft funds, and the SA film incentive schemes to projects. We have produced several long-running TV drama series and youth social marketing campaigns on radio and tv, between 2000 to 2011, across 38 African countries. We have played a pivotal role in film training in SA since 1992. FWF is a fully-fledged female-owned level 1 BBBEE company, with three shareholders, Judi Nwokedi (Executive Chair), Tsholo Mashile (Producer)based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
