Nicole Schafer (1980) is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, video- journalist and founder of Thinking Strings Media based in the KwaZulu-Natal midlands. Her international feature documentary “Buddha in Africa” (2019) has been shown around the world and won numerous local and international awards including “Best Director” and “Best Documentary” in the South African Film and Television awards 2020. Nicole also has experience as a video- journalist, camera operator and editor. She has an MFA degree in Film and Television production from the University of Cape Town (Distinction, 2005).
