Adrian Galley

Adrian Galley is a Cape Town–based actor, writer and legal professional with extensive experience across South Africa’s film, television, radio and stage industries. Trained as both a performer and an attorney, he combines practical on-set insight with a deep understanding of labour, contract and performers’ rights in the audiovisual sector. He serves in the leadership of the South African Guild of Actors (SAGA), where he advises on policy, collective bargaining and contract standards, and has been actively involved in advocacy around fair remuneration, sustainable working conditions and performers’ participation in intellectual property value. In addition to his guild work, Adrian has consulted to a range of creative sector organisations on governance, legal frameworks and strategic planning. As an actor, his career spans screen and stage, including work in drama, comedy and long-running television series, as well as voice and narration projects. He has also contributed as an external examiner and mentor for acting training institutions, supporting the development of emerging talent. Bringing together artistic practice, legal training and policy experience, Adrian is committed to strengthening the ecosystem in which South African stories are developed, financed and brought to audiences, and to ensuring that performers’ voices are central to that process.
