Bio

Yanis Gaye is a French-Senegalese creative producer, co-founder of the production houses Goree Cinema (SN) and Strange Fruit Production House (FR), focusing primarily on project development and facilitating international co-productions of films from Africa and its diasporas. He co-founded YETU (Un)Limited – a multi-venture African film studio. His films garnered recognition at international festivals such as Clermont Ferrand ISFF (Wamè, Joseph Gaï Ramaka, 2025), FESPACO & AFRIFF (Doxandeem, 2023, Saliou Sarr), the Hamburg Shortfilm Festival and New York African FF (Mbas Mi, 2020, Joseph Gaï Ramaka). Yanis has participated in esteemed industry programmes and is an alumni of EFM Toolbox, the EAVE Producers’ Workshop (2023) and Torino Script Lab/Story Editor (2024). He is a mentor for Durban Talents and a facilitator for DFM’s Future Mentors Programme. Starting 2025, he’ll act as Head of Studies for the Locarno Open Doors program, during their African focus.
