Mamadou is a Senegalese filmmaker, co-founder of the production company, Joyedidi. His films explore the tension between fact and fiction, realism and abstraction. Samedi Cinema (2016) opened at the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals. Baamum Nafi, his first feature (2019) won two Golden Leopards in locarno and was Senegal’s entry for the Oscar’s 2021.
