Iman Djionne is a Senegalese writer-director, casting director and producer. Her last short film Boxing Girl screened at several festivals and she is now working on her debut fiction feature Coura + Oulèye, currently in financing. As a casting director, she worked on Ramata-Toulaye Sy’s Banel & Adama (Cannes’ Official Selection 2023) and Matteo Garrone’s Io Capitano (Venice 2023, Best foreign film Oscar nomination in 2024), earning the 2024 Semiramis Award for Excellence in Casting. Through her company Guddi Productions, she co-produced Alicia Mendy’s Beutset (The Dawn) (Winterthur, Fespaco 2025, BlackStar Fest, etc) and Aida Captjin’s Dëmm (in post-production) and is developing other projects. Iman has participated in several labs and residencies such as Atlas Workshops, Berlinale Talents, La Fabrique Cinéma de Cannes, Red Sea Souk, and the Locarno Filmmakers Academy.
