FirstDawn Arts is a Malawian film production company. It has produced three feature films, which have won several awards: 1. Seasons of a life (2008). 2. The Last Fishing Boat (2012) 3. The Road To Sunrise (2017). In 2018, The Road To Sunrise was submitted as Malawi’s entry to the 91st Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film, and became the first ever Malawian film to enter the Oscars. FirstDawn Arts has also produced video documentary works for various organizations including Legal Aid Bureau, British Council, Sunbird Limited, just to mention a few. The main documentary it has produced is “Malawi at Crossroads: A brief History of the 2019 – 2020 Presidential Elections”, which was funded by the European Union.
