Durban Film Mart

Deadline Extension – Durban Filmmart Project Submissions

The Durban FilmMart Institute has extended the submission date for the Pitch and Finance Forum (DFM Official Projects). All last-minute applicants are encouraged to submit their film projects in development before the extended submission deadline on Friday, 25 February 2022.

DFM finance and pitch forum

The Pitch and Finance Forum is open to fiction and documentary projects, both feature length and serialised (episodic) content. Africans in the major creative roles (writers, directors, and producers) seeking co-producers, financiers, sales agents, and funders are invited to submit their projects in development. Project must have both director and producer attached.

The DFMI independent adjudication committees will select ten documentaries and ten fiction film projects from the submissions. These projects will undergo a packaging and mentorship programme followed by a pitching session to a panel of film financiers, buyers, and distributors from across the globe with one-on-one meetings thereafter.

The 13th DFM is scheduled to take place between 22-26 July 2022.
