Bio

Betty Sulty-Johnson is an independent distributor and producer based in Paris. She co-founded and co-directed the first festival dedicated to showcasing the work of Black women both in front of and behind the camera from 2005 to 2009 in London.

In the past, she has worked for France Télévision Distribution, 100% Distribution, Lagardère Studios (now called Mediawan), and Trace Studios, where she established a distribution entity specializing in the sale of Afro-centered content. At Trace Studios, she co-produced an animated series with Côte d’Ivoire called KENDA and a youth fiction series ZETWAL CARAIBES filmed in Guadeloupe.

She served for two years on the CNC Images de la diversité commission and is a member of the French Academy of Cinema Arts and Techniques (Les César).
