Bio

Aliou Kéba BADIANE is born in 1973, in Senegal.
He is the Head of the National Senegalese Film Fund named FOPICA (Audiovisual Industry Promotion Fund) since late 2023.

After graduating at the National School of Arts (ENA) in Senegal in 1999, he worked at the Saint-Louis Cultural Center from 2002 to 2009 before being promoted as the director of the Sédhiou Cultural Center from 2009 to 2020. From there, he moved to Dakar, where he was promoted as the director of the Dakar Cultural Center – Blaise Senghor- from 2020 to 2024.

During his time in Sédhiou, he was also the coordinator of the Library and Center of Cultural Activities, commonly known as CLACs, as part of the program of the International Organization of Francophony. Mr. Badiane is currently working and drafting his master’s degree specialized in ‘Project, Program and Policy Evaluation’, evaluating the distribution and exhibition mechanisms for cinematographic works in Senegal: issues and prospects for greater profitability.

Mr. Badiane was awarded a knighthood in the National Order of Merit of the Republic of Senegal in 2016.
