Bio

Kenneth was awarded the Paulette Goddard Scholarship for best international student while in the Graduate Film Program at New York University. Since his student days, he has accumulated wide experience in the international film and television industries as a head writer, scriptwriter, director, producer, showrunner for scripted and non-scripted TV series, and as a TV news producer. He wrote, produced and directed the feature film, Pure Blood, that received the Lucio Fulci Award at the Roma Fantafestival.

His undergraduate studies included a specialisation in African archaeology, he has an MFA from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts, and he has a PhD from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), where he undertook his doctoral research on the filmed representation of medical doctors in African conflict zones. He currently teaches film production to undergraduate and graduate students and writes frequently about the intersection of media, society and politics.
