Founded in 1998 by veteran producer and television executive Thierry Cassuto, later joined by award-winning writer Karen Jeynes and marketing executive Thato Kekana-Cassuto, Cape Town based Both Worlds Pictures has created and produced a wide range of content over its 25 year existence, including TV series, live events, game-shows, comedy, animation, documentaries and feature films for leading local and international partners. The company recently produced Recipes for Love and Murder, a 10 episode TV series based on Sally Andrew’s best-selling novel and starring Maria Doyle Kennedy, as a coproduction with Mnet (SA), AMC (US), AcornTV (UK), Pirate (Sco) and Global Screen (Ger). It is currently in pre-production of The Morning After, starring Ella Eyre, an 8 episode comedy-drama in association with Amazon and ARD. Both Worlds’ productions have been recognized by 2 nominations at the International Emmy Awards, 27 South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAS), 10 IAB Bookmarks, 2 WGSA Muse Awards and by the 2010 Financial Mail Newsmaker of the Year Award.
