Thabisa Ngcobo is a film critic, journalist and communications coordinator with a BA Degree in Dramatic Arts and Media & Cultural Studies as well as an honours degree in Culture, Communications and Media Studies from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
Her love for writing came about when she was selected as a film reviewer at the annual Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) in 2016 – where her film review was one of the top two to be published on the official DIFF website and various local newspapers.
Last year, she was the only South African chosen as one of the six aspiring film critics to be a part of the Durban Talents Press (2021). Since then, she has contributed on various platforms, one of which is Awotele.
She has been described as an organised, critical, and strategic thinker who constantly uses creativity to communicate key messages effectively.
