Animation in Talents Durban

The Durban FilmMart Institute in cooperation with Berlinale Talents presents Talents Durban, which is a training and development programme that brings together Africa’s rising film professionals – screenwriters and directors with fiction, documentary, animation, and hybrid projects in development (this includes all media formats such as film, television series, web series, and content for mobile platforms).
The programme has two main formats – nline mentorship and a 4-day summit/conference. The online mentorship programme (8 weeks) focuses on story development, visual presentation and pitching & packaging. This is followed by the live physical event in the form of a summit, mainly for networking and the presentation of projects at the Durban FilmMart’s Story Junction platform.
The programme selects 3-4 animation projects in development to participate in story development, key emphasis on character visual development and the business of animation.
