Simphiwe has more than 28 years’ experience in Film & TV production. He is the SABC KZN Regional Operations Manager and a former Head of Production and Development at the KwaZulu Natal Film Commission. He has experience in establishing co-productions in Africa, Europe, North America and India.  He was the Executive Producer on several feature films and TV shows. 

He has been a Commissioning Editor for Youth Development programmes at the SABC responsible for the award-winning Yizo Yizo 3, Gaz’lam, Tsha Tsha, Take 5 and Get Real. Simphiwe has directed and produced a number of TV series, Documentaries and multi-camera productions destined for SABC, eTV and BET Africa. 

He has developed and implemented training programmes in TV, Film, Animation and Radio. Simphiwe is a TV Production graduate at the Durban University of Technology and has post graduate education in Business Management.
