After two decades as a freelance line- and feature film producer, Lucia hung up her producer shoes and joined M-Net to step into a commissioning editing position. She exec-produces content over various genres, including, Diepe Waters, Steinheist, Donkerbos (Berlinale Series 2023, winner of Deleen Bekkerprys) and the kykNET Silwerskermfees short films.
She produced SAFTA 2022 Best Feature Film winner, i am ALL GIRLS, ran production on The Harvesters, which premiered at Cannes Un Certain Regard, produced kykNET SSF16 Best Short Film winner Vlees Van My Vlees. which is currently being developed as a feature, supported by Durban Film Mart, Dutch Film Fund and La Fabrique.
Lucia is a member of SWIFT and an alumnus of Realness Creative Producers Indaba and Durban Film Mart. She holds a cinematography and producing degree from AFDA and resides in Johannesburg with cinematographer husband, Tom Marais and their twin children.
